Are you looking for exceptional pediatric speech-language therapy services for your child in Maryland? Language and Literacy Corner, LLC is a dedicated speech-language pathology private practice that specializes in pediatric speech, language, fluency, and literacy intervention and is ready to help your child with their communication needs!

This practice, based in Frederick, Maryland and serving patients across the state of Maryland as well, is committed to enhancing language and literacy skills in children and adolescents.
Why Language and Literacy Corner, LLC?
Evidence-based Approaches:
What sets LLC apart is its use of current, innovative research in therapy. For example, LLC integrates communication intervention with reading instruction to promote increased generalization of skills across communication environments. Children with phonological disorders (i.e., difficulty producing age-level speech-sound patterns) are at an increased risk for reading difficulties (Tambyraja et. al., 2020). By combining speech therapy with teaching letter sounds and targeting phonological awareness skills, the child would learn how to produce the sound, what letter represents that sound, and words that contain that sound. The more networks in the brain that can be activated, the more efficient the brain can be at using the taught skill across contexts! With over 5 years of experience, Ms. Kayla is formally trained in PROMPT therapy, The Hanen Centre's More Than Words® program, Orton-Gillingham reading method and actively seeks opportunities to continue her education and proficiency in the many aspects of speech-language pathology.
Convenient Scheduling:
LLC provides teletherapy services for Maryland residents, allowing for sessions to take place in the comfort of your own home. Teletherapy is a great option when most of your time is spent driving to school, sports, doctors appointments, and other therapies. Additionally, preliminary research found that both patients and service providers reported satisfaction with patient progress (Chaudhary et al., 2021). Additionally, many children find technology more engaging (we all know how much they love their tablets!). Therapists can use interactive software, apps, and digital tools to engage clients and track progress. Ms. Kayla has been effectively serving patients of all ages and communication styles via teletherapy since 2020. Ms. Kayla also provides in-person reading intervention using the Orton-Gillingham reading method in Frederick, Maryland at the C. Burr Artz Public Library.
Engaging Sessions:
Ms. Kayla takes pride in fostering a fun and positive communication environment for her patients! Since little ones learn through play, Ms. Kayla uses a play-based approach to teach language and grow your child's cognitive skills. For the school-age kids, she integrates games and interactive learning activities to keep them motivated while targeting their goals. Ms. Kayla is also mindful and respectful of all learning styles, whether that calls for more or less structure, increased visual or verbal support, or different communication modalities.
